I had the privilege of being invited by 2K, through Tongal, to collaborate on Borderlands 4 ahead of its launch. They gave me complete creative freedom, which opened the door for a unique fusion between the game’s iconic visual style and my own artistic approach
CONCEPT
The “change of state” implied by breaking free led me to structure the animation in two phases: an initial, ominous silhouette stage representing confinement, followed by a transition into each character’s fully realized form, emphasizing strength and empowerment.
HARLOWE – THE GRAVITAR
Once a leading combat scientist, Harlowe now applies her intellect to the battlefield. She deploys advanced tech, gravity-based tools, and tactical gadgets designed for precise crowd control and strategic disruption.
RAFA – THE EXOSOLIDER
A former Tediore operative equipped with a custom exo-skeleton. Rafa can digi-struct a wide range of weapons on the fly, allowing him to fluidly shift between ranged assaults and close-quarters combat.
VEX – THE SIREN
A rare and powerful Siren who harnesses phase energy in versatile ways. Vex can unleash destructive phase-casting abilities or call upon summoned companions to support her in battle.
AMON – THE FORGEKNIGHT
A devoted warrior born from a cult that revered the Vault Monsters. Amon channels this fanatic upbringing into raw melee power, wielding hand-forged weapons and combat abilities.
